Instead use these guidelines to identify where you could cut back on sin- gle-use plastic during Passover.</p>\n\n<p>What is single-use plastic? Put simply, single-use plastics are goods that are made primarily from fossil fuel–based chemicals (petrochemicals) and are meant to be disposed of right after use—often, in mere minutes. Single-use plastics are most commonly used for packaging and serviceware, such as bottles, wrappers, straws, and bags (via NRDC).</p>\n\n<p><strong>DISCUSS</strong></p>\n\n<p>• When do you use single-use plastic?<br />\n• Why is it hard to avoid?<br />\n• What are the barriers to replacing single-use plastic?<br />\n• Are you already trying to reduce your plastic waste? How?<br />\n• Which room do you think will have the most single-use plastic? Which will have the least?<br />\n• Why do you think single-use plastic is bad for the environment? What makes it worse than other plastic products that we use?</p>\n\n<p><strong>FIND THE PLASTIC!</strong></p>\n\n<p>• Take our checklist and go from room to room, checking off items in plastic containers.<br />\n• Bring a few examples of single-use plastic items back to show the group.</p>\n\n<p><strong>POST PLASTIC HUNT DISCUSSION QUESTIONS</strong></p>\n\n<p>• Did you find more or less single-use plastic than you were expecting?<br />\n• What will be the easiest single-use plastic item to eliminate? The Plagues of Plastic ask the same, naming the tolls that plastic has taken on our world.
