Dayenu onions
So there's this Afghani and Iranian tradition that we've adopted recently, and it involves whacking your tablemates with green onions during the singing of Dayenu. This represents the whips and scourges of the Egyptians—which, by the power of the Almighty, are stripped of their power to harm—by the end of the song, the green onions are usually completely bent up and bruised. This year, I have no green onions, so Jillian and I have opted to gently bop each other with yellow onions. Please bop your friends or yourself with a vegetable during the following song.
