Climate Change
Since the Industrial revolution, the increasing amounts of fossil fuels being emitted into the atmosphere has led to global warming. Greenhouse gasses (i.e. CO2, methane, ozone, etc.) are released into the atmosphere, trapping heat and creating holes in the ozone layer. According to NASA, the global temperature has increase 1.1C since the Industrial revolution. If climate change continues at this rate, it could lead to extreme weather events, rising ocean levels, and high amounts of species extinction. However, recent research has found more sustainable ways of creating energy, and the United Nations are taking these methods and applying them worldwide through policies.
